A conversation can change a life! R U OK? Is a harm prevention charity that encourages people, our children and teenagers included, to stay connected and have conversations that can help others through difficult times in their lives. We know that at the moment, where we potentially feel isolated, this message is especially important.

This week PCS will be focusing its Wellbeing times across the school, age appropriately, on the inclusive and connected message of  R U Ok?, encouraging students to invest time in their personal relationships and build their support networks – family, friends, support staff and teachers. We are asking students to be alert to those around them and have a conversation with a trusted adult if they believe they or another person they know is at risk.

As parents, there is much we can do. Begin the conversation with R U OK? Follow the four simple steps that could make a big difference in the life of someone you love – Ask, Listen, Encourage to Action, and Check-In.

For us as a Christian community, we would add, pray. For more advise, please see the R U OK? Website, or click here for ways you could help others. Should you or anyone you know need support, please contact Lifeline on 131114, Kids Helpline on 1800 55 1800, or your local GP or Community Health Centre.
