About the Role
As a key leader within the School, you will be integral in supporting and inspiring colleagues and engaging with parents and the wider community to actively promote a culture of care and excellence. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team and reporting directly to the Principal, the Head of Primary Years will provide strategic leadership and operational management for their team in alignment with the school’s strategic plan, vision and mission. This is a full-time position commencing at the start of Term 2 or by negotiation.

You will be an experienced and dedicated leader who is committed to your own personal and professional development. You will continue to seek out opportunities to learn from and network with colleagues in other independent schools and have a vision for excellence in all that you do that inspires others. You will be highly relational and understand the importance of positive relationships and culture in a Christian school setting, willing to work in a collaborative and supportive whole-school team.
Qualifications
You will ideally have post-graduate qualifications in Education or Educational Leadership (or similar) or be prepared to pursue studies by mutual negotiation.
Successful Candidates
Along with NESA accreditation and a current paid Working with Children Check, applicants will need to be able to demonstrate the following:
- That you are a committed Christian who will provide opportunities for students to develop an understanding of the Christian faith and encourage them to discover and pursue their God-given purpose through an excellent education.
- Implement and enhance the School’s Vision, Mission and Values.
- Prioritise both the learning and wellbeing of students, supported by our ‘Great Learning, Well People’ Framework, promoting excellence in academic and pastoral care.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the place of Christian education and of teaching and learning within a Biblical Worldview.
- Ability to apply strategies to ensure high student engagement with school life, including co-curricular programs.
- Leadership skills with demonstrated effectiveness and a proven ability to guide, mentor and build the capacity of colleagues.
- Engagement with current research regarding student learning, achievement and wellbeing.
- An understanding of working with students with disabilities, including those of social and emotional nature.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to building strong community with students, parents/carers, colleagues and where applicable, external agencies.
